On October 24, 2024, the highly anticipated Seventh International Forum on Technology Innovation and IP Protection (TIIP International Forum) was successfully held in Shenzhen, China.
Themed “Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Development”, this forum brought together more than 300 representatives from well-known domestic and foreign technology companies, famous scholars, experts in IP industry and IP professionals to discuss the latest developments in artificial intelligence technology and its key role in promoting industrial transformation and upgrading.
The forum officially kicked off with a wonderful speech by Wenqiu Liu, President of the Shenzhen Enterprise Science and Technology Innovation Association. Mr. Liu warmly welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of holding this forum in the context of increasingly fierce global scientific and technological competition. Mr. Liu hopes that through this forum, we can further build consensus, deepen cooperation, and jointly promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology and industry, and contribute to building a more open, collaborative and sustainable scientific and technological innovation system.
Then, Mr. Pan Yang, Secretary General of Guangdong Trademark Association, gave a speech in which he profoundly elaborated on the importance of trademark protection in promoting brand development and maintaining market order. He also sincerely wished the Forum a complete success.
Then, senior patent lawyer Ms. Siyuan Ge, with her professional legal background and deep understanding of the field of artificial intelligence, gave a wonderful speech entitled “Practice of Artificial Intelligence Patent in US”. She gave an in-depth and easy-to-understand explanation of the latest developments, strategies of patent application and examination standards of current US artificial intelligence patents.
Mr. Yongwen Wang, founding partner of Johnson Intellectual Property Agency (Shenzhen), took “Attack and Defense of Chinese Patent Litigation – Case Sharing” as the theme. Combining his rich practical experience in the field of intellectual property, he selected representative Chinese patent litigation cases and shared his insights and experiences in the process of representing patent litigation cases, providing valuable references for the participants.
Mr. Jian Sun, the representative of TRY International IP Law Firm, gave a profound speech entitled “The Current Situation and Trend of Japanese Intellectual Property in the AI Era”, focusing on multiple dimensions of generative AI, including its introduction, relationship with various parts of the law, coping methods and strategies of patent protection. The in-depth theory is closely linked to practice, allowing participants to have a deeper understanding of the current situation and future of intellectual property.
On the theme of “New Frontiers of AI Technology Innovation and Intellectual Property Protection”, Mr. Zhe Li, Vice President of 37 Interactive Entertainment Network Technology Group CO., LTD, demonstrated the practical achievements in AI technology innovation and intellectual property protection, providing useful references and ideas for the improvement of the intellectual property protection system.
Then the round-table seminar came. Under the careful moderation of Wenqiu Liu, President of Shenzhen Enterprise Science and Technology Innovation Association with four important guests, including Pan Yang, Secretary General of Guangdong Trademark Association, Kelin Wu, Founder of UISDC, Shan Jiang, General Manager of Loongson Technology (Guangdong), and Wang Xu, General Manager of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligent Technology (Qingdao) Co., Ltd., gathered together to conduct in-depth exchanges and exchange of ideas around the core topic of “Building an Intellectual Property-Intensive Industrial Innovation Ecosystem”.
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, the application of big models in the digital and intelligent management of enterprises is becoming more and more extensive. Hang Liu, senior director of customer success at Inclusive Technologies Co., Ltd., focused on the theme of “The Successful Practice of Big Models in Enterprise Digital Management” and shared Inclusive Technologies Co., Ltd.’s valuable experience and innovative cases in helping enterprises achieve digital and intelligent transformation.
Chi Xu, General Legal Counsel of SMOORE, combined with practical experience, shared the strategies and wisdom of enterprises in dealing with overseas intellectual property disputes. He emphasized that before expanding into overseas markets, enterprises should fully understand the intellectual property legal environment of the target market, strengthen their own intellectual property layout and risk management, and reduce the possibility of disputes from the source.
