2023 INTA Pre-Annual Meeting Reception in Shenzhen was Held Successfully

The anticipated 2023 INTA Pre-Annual Meeting Reception in Shenzhen was successfully held on April 7, 2023 in Lia Charlton Hotel, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, China. During the meeting, IP experts, representatives of enterprises from home and abroad delivered speeches and shared experience on current hot topics such as the management of intellectual property portfolios and the latest legal practice of IP industry.
2023 INTA Pre-Annual Meeting Reception in Shenzhen was hosted by International Trademark Association (INTA), Shenzhen Enterprise Science and Technology Innovation Association, co-hosted by Johnson Intellectual Property Agency (General Partnership), Guang Dong Fair Law Firm, Hongda Business Service.
The meeting started with INTA’s official video which introduced 2023 INTA Annual Meeting in Singapore (May 16, 2023 – May 20, 2023) . Then, Mr. Yongwen WANG, founding partner of Johnson Intellectual Property Agency (General Partnership) showed his sincere appreciation to INTA for giving a chance to hold this reception again, gave his best wishes to the coming 2023 INTA Annual Meeting in Singapore and warmly welcomed all the guests getting together for providing their fact-based and constructive viewpoints on IP practice. Mr. WANG also mentioned that Shenzhen, as a comprehensive platform for overseas rights protection services, should play a more significant role in the development of IP industry, and Johnson IP will always endeavor to hold international IP activities for promoting the communication and cooperation within the IP industry.
Mr. Hu WANG (Doctor of Intellectual Property Law), a researcher at Southwest University of Political Science & Law, presented a speech with the topic: The latest trend of trademark administrative protection. Mr. WANG first introduced the latest public policy: The Outline for Building an Intellectual Property Powerhouse (2021-2035), Trademark Infringement Judgment Standard, Intellectual property protection and management for e-commerce platforms, etc., then shared some special administrative enforcement activities.
Miss. Alexis LIU(Doctor of Laws of Emory University), a senior counsel for international legal affairs and compliance officer of a global communication company, analyzed the regulation and co-opetition between the operation of brand logo, explained in what situation the conflict between the name of the enterprise and the registered trademark would be considered as unfair competition by sharing some typical cases.
Mr. Jiahong PAN, general manager of Foshan Jiaxi Bedding & Clothing Co., Ltd., talked how important the trademark portfolio to brand operation by introducing the history of this century-old brand.

In the talk session of INTA Annual Meeting, four guests who all have rich working experience in IP practice interacted with each other about their experience of the past INTA Annual Meeting. Each of them pointed out some important information and notice while attending INTA Annual Meeting first time.

Before the Cocktail Party started, Mr. Wenqiu LIU, president of Shenzhen Enterprise Science and Technology Innovation Association, gave his welcome speech. Mr. LIU mentioned that INTA Pre-Annual Meeting Reception in Shenzhen provides the best communication platform for all the IP experts from all over the world, and through this meeting a bridge between Singapore and Shenzhen was constructed, which helps promote the development of the ecosystem of trademark and intellectual property. Also, as one of the initiators of Technology Innovation and IP Protection Alliance (TIIPA), a global communication platform in IP industry based in Shenzhen, China, Mr. LIU called on all the IP experts at the meeting to join the IP Expert Group of TIIPA, where all the members could set up events, share business resources, get marketing promotion and so on.
