The markets of China and Southeast Asia should not be underestimated
Mr. Liu Wenqiu mentioned in his speech that in 2019 alone, the total value of China’s imports and exports of goods reached 43 trillion USD, while the total value of imports and exports in Southeast Asia also reached 621.4 billion USD, of which Thailand accounted for 88.8 billion USD. China’s imports from Thailand are mainly automatic data processors, integrated circuit boards, auto parts, clothing, rice, fruit, rubber, and other goods. Besides, as of 2019, Shenzhen alone had 14,759 PCT international patent applications and more than 500K trademark applications, and this number is still growing. All of the above data show that there is a plentiful market in intellectual property rights.
The “Seven-step Poetry” of innovation
There is a legend in Ancient China that a poet finished a poem in seven foot-steps. And today at the meeting, GUY took the innovation of an artificial meat company as an example, taking only seven steps to lead us to “create” an innovative deep technology on the IP Innovation Canvas. The first step is to collect inspiration, then analyze possible needs from major sources, and evaluate the FTO (Freedom to Operate). Then audit the key assets of the company, analyze the expectations then select the target customers and innovation types, and finally sort out the utilization strategy of the innovation, in that situation, the innovation can be introduced to the market. Of course, it’s always easy to talk, but collecting inspiration in the very first step could be the most difficult. With inspiration, the rest comes naturally.
