The 3rd TIIP Forum completed successfully on Nov. 14th, 2020
With great supports by all the guests from technology industry, such as Huawei, BOE, TCL, Konka, etc. and experts from intellectual property industry, the Third International Forum on Technology Innovation and IP Protection (TIIP) , held at China Hi-Tech Fair（CHTF）on November 14th, 2020, was completed successfully.

Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, Shenzhen University, China Intellectual Property Protection Center (Shenzhen) and tens of organizational units brought together hundreds of well-known enterprises, intellectual property protection agencies from over 20 countries and areas and technological experts to discuss how to promote international communication and cooperation on technology innovation and IP protection. There were thousands of people getting registrations and hundreds of viewers accessing the webcast for online conference.
After the Opening Ceremony of International Alliance of Technology Innovation and IP Protection (TIIPA), sponsored by Shenzhen Enterprise Science and Technology Innovation Association, a nongovernmental platform uniting local government, Johnson Intellectual Property Agency, famous intellectual property agencies and enterprises from China and abroad, the Third TIIP formally opened.
Next, Mr. Yi Li, General Secretary of Chinese Group from the world’s leading International Organization dedicated to the development and improvement of laws for the protection of intellectual property (AIIPI), made his speech on introducing the history and cooperation partners of AIPPI and offering the topic about IP protection of AI for discussion.
Mr. Liuping Song, Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, expressed his opinions about the necessity of constructing IP protection with flexible policies, laws and public service system, which was beneficial for all the countries, industries and individuals. Mr. Jing Su, as a Chief Director of Operation Department of Intellectual Property Protection and Innovation Department of BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd, combining the technology of BOE with IP Protection, expressing his deep understanding from research and development, procurement, production, market.
During the part of speeches from international IP agencies and companies, Ms. Shoko Tsutsui from TSUTSUI & ASSOCIATES, Japanese IP agency, gave the speech of “How to accelerate the process of trademark application in Japan” and “The differences of trademark application between China and Japan”, sharing some useful information about Japanese trademark application. She also pointed out that among all the trademark applications, the number from China is the biggest. However, the average time for the whole process of application is about 12-14 months and with low success rate, which brings large effects to Chinese applicants.
Mr. Alban Kwan, Regional Director of East Asia for CSC, shared his rich experiences of 3 Steps of Internet IP Protection, which are the digital assets management, entire network monitoring, rights protection. He laid stress on the importance of global abilities while companies providing services for Internet IP Protection.
With experiences of over 30 years in laws on intellectual property, Mr. Kowit Somwaiya, Managing Partner of LawPlus Ltd. in Thailand and LawPlus Myanmar Ltd., gave his speech about filling PCT national phase applications in Thailand, overcoming the refusal of international trademark applications in Thailand and re-filling registered trademarks in Myanmar.
Finally, with hot discussion among five guests: Wenqiu Liu–Chairman of Shenzhen Enterprise Science and Technology Innovation Association; Chengxie Li— Intellectual Property Protection Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou; Yanli Xu– Director of Technology Transfer Centre of Shenzhen University; Weiping Tian– Vice president of CTU tech Co., Ltd.; Jinjing Wang—Gebenneral Manager of Shenzhen Merchants Investment Management Co., Ltd about the theme of “Construction of Benchmark City of Intellectual Property Protection and Opportunities of Era”, the Third TIIP ended with big success.
