Weekly IP News – Pilot Project for Prioritised Examination of Qualified Invention Patent Applications Filed by Macao SAR Applicants in the Mainland China

On June 25, 2023, CNIPA published a pilot project: Macao applicants for invention patent applications which meet the relevant criteria may request prioritised examination of their applications by the CNIPA. Requests can be submitted to the CNIPA’s representative office in Guangzhou and Shenzhen under this pilot project.
This pilot project provides a fast-track examination channel for applications for inventions that meet the requirements, significantly shortening the examination period and allowing patent-eligible inventions to be authorized more quickly.
