Recently, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) released White Paper on Status of IP Protection in China in 2022 which indicates the statistics below:
Patent
In 2022, the number of granted invention patents increased to 798,000, showing a year-on-year increase of 14.7%; the number of granted utility models fell to 2,804,000, showing a year-on-year decrease of 10.1%; the number of granted industrial designs fell to 721,000, showing a year-on-year decrease of 8.2%.
Trademark
In 2022, the number of registered trademarks drop to 6,177,000, showing a year-on-year decrease of 20.2%.
Copyright
In 2022, the total number of copyright registrations in China was 6.3531 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 1.42%.
